Dear electronic designers in LHCb A preliminary agenda for the front-end electronics meeting at NIKHEF September 15 9:00 - 13:00 will be something like: Decision on main L0 parameters: Jorgen Christiansen L0 trigger rate (1MHz) L0 derandomizer (16, 900 ns) Buffer overflow control (readout supervisor) L0 trigger gap (none) Preliminary rack allocation in Cavern: Daniel Lacarrere (Jorgen Christiansen) Front-end system of outer tracker: Bart Hommels or somebody else from NIKHEF Experience with fast front end electronics: SCT: Jan Buytaert (To be confirmed) APV: John Bibby (To be confirmed) Planning of front-end/DAQ workshop at CERN October 12-14 (11 - 15 if required) Quick summary of new L0 front-end requirements document (to be continued in coming workshop): http://lhcb.cern.ch/electronics/papers/l0_parameters.pdf Short discussion on reset schemes for front-end systems (to be continued in coming workshop): Two similar but also different approaches to this can be found in two new draft LHCb notes. One proposes a whole set of resets for different parts of front-end: http://lhcb.cern.ch/electronics/papers/TTC_use_beat.pdf The other basically only proposes one general reset: http://lhcb.cern.ch/electronics/papers/l0_parameters.pdf I would be pleased if anybody else would like to present their latest progress on front-end electronics.
