Front-end electronics racks in the D3 barracks :

The maximum mains electrical power available is 11kW per rack. The electrical power is distributed in the racks via an electrical distribution box situated on the back top of the racks (behind the turbine unit for the F-E racks). The electrical distribution box offers 7 Burndy output plugs with single phase.

The counting house racks can house a maximum of 2 TELL1 crates (9U crate) with all equipments required like patch panels, TTCoc, Ethernet switch for ECS links, cooling fans, turbine units and heat exchanger. For more information about crates: Electronic crates page

For the electronics racks, the cooling system is the standard vertical air flow one, a closed air circuit with heat exchangers (mixed water), fan trays and turbines. Two turbines, on the top of the rack, drive the air flow down, into two air ducts, on each side of the rack. Heat exchangers and fan trays are placed between each crates to cool and distribute the air flow homogeneously.
For the tests report : Cooling tests.
The cables passages possibilities for the electronics racks are in front of the rack on both sides, in the cable ladders, (2*146*44 mm) 2*65 cm2 and on the rear part in the "service zone" only on the right part (when you face the front panel of the rack), due to the cooling pipes on the left (70*190mm) 133 cm2.
Note that behind the crates, the power supplies have to take place and have to be removable (service etc.). In consequence, no cable can be placed behind the crates inside the rack.

For the electronics racks, the monitoring board will be integrated in the turbines.
