PC farm racks in the D1 and D2 barracks :

The maximum mains electrical power available is 11kW per rack. The electrical power is distributed in the racks via an electrical distribution box situated on the back top of the racks (behind the turbine unit for the F-E racks). The electrical distribution box offers 7 Burndy output plugs with single phase.

For the PCs racks, the cooling system is based on an horizontal air flow. An heat exchanger module, using mixed water, will be installed on the rear panel of the rack, no other heat exchanger, no fan trays or turbines will be needed.
A prototype rack has been built and tests have been made. http://alicedcs.web.cern.ch/AliceDCS/pcrackcool/
For the PCs racks both (left and right) parts of the rear "service zone" are available for cabling (cooling pipes going only to the heat exchanger module). In total 2*65 cm2 in the front and 2*133 cm2 in the rear part of the rack are available for cabling.

For the PCs racks, due to the open air flow system that will be used, another system than the one developed for the front-end racks will most probably be integrated.
